POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Water & Sewer Operations, the Utility Operator is responsible for working in all aspects of Public Works Operations including, but not limited to water & sewer.
The position of Utility Operator is to perform several different types of physical labour work activities where job tasks can change unexpectedly throughout the day.
Regular hours of work are Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with unexpected overtime 7 days/week with an on-call rotation.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Must have Grade XII Diploma or GED equivalent
- Water/Wastewater Certification or willing to obtain
- Lift Station and Booster Pump experience
- Trade certifications such as carpentry, welding, electrical or plumbing
