Volunteer Week – Nominate a Local Volunteer

In celebration of National Volunteer Week, Recreation Nova Scotia hosts an annual Awards Day Ceremony to honour all “representative” volunteers. The Representative Volunteer Award is given to volunteers who have made an outstanding contribution to their community, municipality, town and/or village.

We are calling for NOMINATIONS for the Representative Volunteer Award. Each year the Municipality of the County of Antigonish chooses a “representative volunteer” to represent all volunteers in Antigonish County at the Provincial Awards Ceremony. The “representative volunteer” will be drawn at random.

In addition, the Municipality also AWARDS a $250 CASH PRIZE. All you have to do to qualify is:

  • Be a group/organization nominating a volunteer for the 2025 “Volunteer Representative” draw
  • Indicate on the nomination form in 60-70 words, what your group would do with a $250 cash prize

All submissions will be placed in a draw and two entries will be drawn at random
