Most roads in Antigonish County are owned and maintained by the Province of Nova Scotia through the Department of Public Works who are responsible for building and maintaining provincial highways, roads, and bridges. For road maintenance concerns, you can contact the Department of Public Works or call toll free at 1-844-696-7737.

If you are planning any activity/work on the roadway or within the road right-of-way including a driveway or erecting a structure within 100 metres of any municipal road, a permit is required prior to starting the work. A $300.00 refundable deposit is required.
