Control of Dogs
Section 15 of the Municipality’s By-Law Respecting the Control and Regulations of Dogs stipulates that no dog shall be permitted to leave the premises of its owner unless it is under the effective restraint of a leash and the control of a person in charge thereof.
The Municipality has received numerous complaints regarding dog owners allowing their dogs to run-at-large along walkways and in parks, playgrounds and neighborhoods, contrary to the provisions of the Municipal By-Law. Residents are asked to ensure their dog is on a leash when leaving the premises of its owner. Failure to do so could result in a fine up to $10,000.
The Municipality wishes to thank all dog owners for their anticipated cooperation in this matter.
