Low Income Tax Exemption

The Municipality offers a Low-Income Property Tax Exemption of up to $325 for eligible homeowners. To qualify, the total gross combined household income for all family members living in the home must be $40,000 or less from the previous taxation year.

Completed applications can be submitted to the Tax Office at the Municipal Building during regular office hours, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Applications must include a copy of the 2025 Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Notice of Assessment for all family members living in the household.

Applications can be picked up at the Municipal Office (285 Beech Hill Road) or downloaded here: 2026 Low Income Exemption Application

The deadline to apply is December 31 each year.

Provincial Property Tax Rebate for Seniors

The Provincal Property Tax Rebate for Seniors helps low-income seniors with the cost of municipal residential property taxes. Rebates are 50% of what you paid on last year’s property taxes, up to a maximum of $800. You can apply until 31 December 2026.
