Letter to Premier Tim Houston Regarding Declining Cell Service

(December 3, 2025) – Over the past several months, Municipal Councillors have been hearing from residents across Antigonish County about their growing concerns regarding declining cellular service. Many communities are now experiencing unreliable or completely lost coverage, raising significant public safety and connectivity issues. Council has been actively advocating on behalf of residents, sharing these concerns with provincial partners and pressing for urgent action.

As part of this ongoing advocacy, the Municipality recently sent the following letter to Premier Tim Houston, with copies provided to all municipalities in Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities. The letter outlines the seriousness of the situation and reiterates the need for immediate improvements to cellular service across our region.
