(October 2, 2026) UPDATE: Please see the following update from the Nova Scotia Department of Public Works regarding potential traffic delays on Post Road as construction of the AT Corridor extension continues.
Night work will begin Sunday evening, October 4, 2026, and is expected to continue for about one week. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Motorists should expect lane changes and delays.
During this time, westbound Trunk 4 will be closed between the West Street roundabout and James Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured via TC Highway 104, with detour signs in place.

(September 24, 2026) UPDATE: Post Road Construction Update
Work on the north side of Post Road will begin next week to install new curbs and related infrastructure.
Daytime work will continue without traffic stoppages. Beginning Monday night, the lane changes currently in place during the day will remain in place overnight.
Stop-and-go traffic is expected to begin in approximately one week as night work progresses. A further update will be provided once the schedule is confirmed.
Harbour Hills Path Extension
Construction on the next phase of the Harbour Hills Path Extension project (Phase 4), led by the Province’s Department of Public Works, will begin in August 2026.
This phase includes:
- Extending the Harbour Hills Path from James Street to Addington Forks
- Installing a new two-way cycle track from James Street to Market Street, while maintaining the existing sidewalk
- Constructing a new multi-use pathway from Market Street to the Addington Forks roundabout
Traffic control measures will be in place during portions of the project. Please proceed with caution when travelling through the construction zone and follow all posted signage.
Work is expected to be completed in November.
