Notice of Public Hearings

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Council of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish intends to consider and, if deemed advisable, approve:

  • Application by Kelly Field and Sylvain Gauthier to amend the Eastern Antigonish Land Use By-law by rezoning the property on Myette Road with PIDs 10138329, 10136901, 10138337 and 10138345 from R-1 to R-2.
  • Application to rezone the property on Vincent’s Way, PID 01208933, Sylvan Valley – West River Antigonish Harbour Plan Area.
  • Application to amend R-2 Townhouse lot requirements in the West River Antigonish Harbour Land Use By-law.
  • Application by S.F. Smith Retirement Living Inc to amend the West River Antigonish Harbour Land Use By-law to allow the conversion of non-residential building to entirely residential buildings in the General Commercial (C-2) Zone.
  • Application by Below the Salt Distillery Inc to amend the Eastern Antigonish Land Use By-law to allow “Brewpubs, taproom breweries and micro-distilleries” and “licensed establishments” to Restaurants as permitted uses within the Rural (R-1) Zone.

Copies of the Staff Reports, providing more detailed information on the proposed amendments, can be inspected at the Municipal Office of Antigonish County (285 Beech Hill) or at the office of the Eastern District Planning Commission (32 Paint Street, Unit 4, Port Hawkesbury) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 pm weekdays (excluding statutory holidays), on the Eastern District Planning Commission website www.edpc.ca, or by contacting 902-625-561 or Toll Free 1-888-625-5361.

Written or oral presentations (in favour or opposition) to the proposed recommendations can be made before Municipal Council at a Public Hearing to be held on:
